My Approach to Therapy
One of the key approaches I use in my practice is Bowen Systems Theory, developed by psychiatrist Murray Bowen. This framework explores how family dynamics shape your identity and relationships. The roles and patterns established in your family history can influence your present behavior, often in ways you may not even realize. By examining these patterns together, I can help you break free from unhelpful cycles and develop healthier ways of relating to those around you. This deep and reflective process fosters long-term personal growth and stronger relationships.
In addition to Bowen Systems Theory, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients navigate everyday challenges. CBT provides practical tools to manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, making it an effective approach for reducing stress and improving overall well-being.
For those who desire a faith-based approach, I specialize in Christian Counseling, integrating theology with psychology. The therapeutic methods I use are biblically sound, and I am trained to incorporate faith into the healing process. However, this element is entirely optional, and you are welcome to choose whether or not to include it in your sessions.

About Jessica
I hold a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oral Roberts University, where I also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and double majored in Piano Performance. In 2014, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and later became a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. One of my greatest passions is helping parents raise empowered, responsible, and loving children.
I work with individuals and couples who are seeking to uncover the root of their struggles and develop a stronger sense of self. With years of experience supporting clients through marital difficulties, divorce recovery, and blended family dynamics, I bring both professional expertise and personal insight. Also, as a stepmom, I understand firsthand the unique challenges of navigating blended families and am passionate about helping others in similar situations.
Outside of my practice, I love spending time with my wonderful husband and four amazing kids. I also stay busy as a homeschooling mom—my side hustle! In my free time, you’ll often find me exploring new recipes or restaurants, traveling, or unwinding with a good psychological thriller.
